This paper introduces a new approach to utilise the information system success model developed by DeLone and McLean. In practice, the new approach was to illustrate an information system project retrospectively and by interpretation with the help of the model created and evaluated by numerous scientific studies. In our approach, no quantitative measures or statistical concepts were used. The empirical research material was based on a prior information system implementation that was retrospectively reflected through the model. The interpretive reflection allowed the decision makers and managers to catch a glimpse of an information system implementation retrospectively to help them proceed in future. The described approach contributes both practitioners when they seek for explanations and improvements; and academic audience in using different lenses in information system research.en_US
